Yaml wrangler with some go to php and python

I like to tinker around with all kinds of software related things.

From my education background in electronics I discovered computers. Then it was more from an angle “with software we can enhance our electronics devices”. But I have to admit I quickly shifted towards tinkering with computers and it’s software. Gaming got me into the hosting realm where I started hosting competition servers for Battlefield on lan-parties.

And I’m still in that area. I like to run hosting related software. Self-hosted for my own needs. But professionally I also like to make hosting something that is enjoyable for others with less technical know-how.

I have to admit, even though I grew up using Windows, my forté and joy comes from using Linux based operating systems. My first properly working install was 1999 with Slackware because Red Hat’s XFree86 did not want to work on that machine. And since somewhere in 2004 my main computer has been running Linux in some form.

Since the rise of containers with docker I became an adept user of containers. Since these make it really easy to create logically separated blocks that you can easily test to build a bigger ecosystem of tools.
